My favorite quote for today . . .

to the lives of others

cannot keep it

from themselves."

Day 7 Surprises are always fun...

It's pretty hard for me to pull off real surprises.  This time, I think we did it though. And it was fun!

This hardworking, selfless daughter of ours is always doing things for others. She sees needs and jumps in to help without being asked and never complains about it. She's a dedicated high school student, taking a full college course load and making the dean's list, while also going to basketball practice everyday, working part time and being a wonderful daughter, sister and friend to anyone who's lucky enough to spend time with her.

She's going to be 17 in a few days. Time, please slow down.
This is what 17 looks and feels like, according to Brooke, "17 is having a car and a milk juice box." 😂 Hang onto that childhood my love!

She really wanted to save up for her own car but hasn't quite gotten enough saved.  She helps out with errands all the time and goes to school almost an hour away, so we decided it was time for reliable transportation. (The Expedition has been good to us, but with 250,000 it's on it's last leg.)

We might have gotten some feedback about what kind of car Brooke was hoping to get .... and maybe we went ahead and got it for her.

She was TOTALLY SURPRISED! She also loves it and hasn't stopped saying thank you for the last 24 hours.
💕🎈🧁🚗

  • How's that for fun?!?
